Autism Court and Vaccines: Part II
The debate isn’t over despite what lawyers and doctors want. Parents are insisting that vaccines with Thimerosal and mercury are the direct link to autism and are determined to prove it in the United States Court system.
For the second time just this year families are back in court claiming that vaccinations triggered autism in their young children. The specific case began today and features two 10-year-old boys from Portland, Oregon, William Mead and Jordan King. They are considered test cases to determine whether or not the thousands of families should get compensation, as those two boys, much like the other children they represent, had been developing normally before the vaccinations.
According to the Associated Press, “nearly 4,900 families have filed claims with the U.S. Court of Claims alleging that vaccines caused autism and other neurological problems in their children”.
The lawyers in this specific case are hoping to prove that thimerosal-containing vaccines cause autism because they deposit a form of mercury into the brain that excites certain brain cells to stay chronically activated because they are trying to get rid of the mercury intrusion.
What is most interesting is that the Institute of Medicine and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention have already rejected the link between thimerosal and autism. Therefore, lawyers such as Lynn Ricciardella are wondering why parents are fighting this in court.
“There is no scientific debate,” Ricciardella said. “The debate is over.”
There are three different theories that the Vaccine Court will present; the first of which was the Hannah Poling Case regarding Mitochondrial Disease.
Individuals claiming an injury from a vaccine must file a petition for a “no fault” compensation with the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
