Pfeiffer Treatment Center
What exactly is the Pfeiffer Treatment Center that we went to? Our pediatrician thinks its a quack center wanting to get our money.
Ped: Never listen to anyone telling you about chelation. All they want is your money. There is no reason to chelate unless they come into your house and find toxic levels of lead or arsenic. Then you obviously need to do IV chelation. Anyone else is just a quack.
Me: (dumbfounded, as I thought she was somewhat on board) Well, we are doing this naturally through vitamin chelation…Vitamin C, selenium,
Ped: (she cuts me off) You can get those things naturally through fruits and vegetables.
Me: (okay, conversation useless) Yes, but there are so many foods that he can not tolerate.
Ped: I am very concerned that his diet is too limited. Is he drinking milk?
Me: No, he has a lactose intolerance shown from his lactase enzyme deficiency.
Ped: Then buy him Lactose Free Milk.
Me: But he is on the Gluten Free/Casein Free Diet.
Ped: Then get him Silk Soy Milk.
Me: Soy makes him aggressive.
Ped: He’s an aggressive kid.
Me: So, I want to make him more aggressive? I give him one Soy yogurt a day with his medicine. He gets rice milk and a Calcium/Vit. D/Magnesium Supplement. He was also in the 100% for Calcium, Zinc, Magnesium when we did the test so obviously he is getting it from someplace.
Ped: Oh Dear….Rice Milk is Crap. Get him off that now. He needs the nutrients.
Okay, so does she not listen? Her response to his Ferritin level was to feed him more red meat. His level was 9 (should be between 22 and 322). I think I am going with the Pfeiffer advice and information for now. At least they believe me when I tell them he can’t tolerate salicylates. (she thinks that is crap too) They tell me many kids like Little Pickel just can’t process them just as they can’t process gluten or naturally chelate.
The Pfeiffer Treatment Center treats by treating Chemical imbalances. Chemical imbalances can be mild, moderate, or severe. A mild condition can often be overcome by good parenting, but moderate and severe conditions need biochemical and nutrient treatment.
